Druk- Path TrekkingThis Trek is lies at the altitude of the 3353meters.This trek starts from Paro and terminates at Thimphu. In just 6 days the trail reaches high alpine lake (4000m) and pass through rhododendron and pine forests. In autumn and winter there are spectacular view of the eastern Himalayan range. You can have the spectacular views of the awesome peaks, including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks in Bhutan. Autumn and spring is the best time to do this trek, thought other season are equally good for trek. Additional two full day in Paro and one full day in Thimphu have been added to provide opportunity to experience and see cultural and religious life of Bhutan. (6 day trek from Paro to Thimpu in Western Bhutan) you can visit the Paro Dzong. It was built in 1646 and now houses government offices and religious institutions, as do all the dzongs (forts) currently. You'll cross a traditional wooden bridge on the way to the dzong. You can tour the National Museum, formerly the watchtower for the dzong. It now houses a collection of fine arts, paintings, thankas, statues, and antiques. You will also visit Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country.

Trip Details Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to airport

Day 02 : In Kathmandu- free day, sort out permit & equipment

Day 03 : Fly to Paro and Full day sightseeing tour of Paro. Visit Drukgye Dzong, Paro Bazaar and National Museum. Overnight in Paro.

Day 04 : Half day tour of Paro.
Walk to Satsam Chorten and Taksang monastery (tiger nest), overnight in Paro.

Day 05 : Paro trek to Jele Dzong (2591mt)
Easy and gradual up hill trail to the camp site at Jele Dzong.

Day 06 : Jele Dzong trek to Jangcheulakha (2896mt.)

Day 07 : Jangchulakha trek to Jimilangtso (3353mt.)
The trail follows the fidge. Camp by the side of the lake at Jimilangtso.

Day 08 : Jimilangtso trek to Simkota (3506mt)
Walk through rhododendron forests; pass the lake at Janetso. You may visit some yak herders camp on the route. Camp near the Simkota lake.

Day 09 : Simkota trek to Phajoding (2896mt.)
Make gradual climb to Dochu la (pass) and descend to Phajoding. There are excellent view of Gangkhar Punsum (7497m), the highest peak in Bhutan, and other himalayan peaks from the pass. Overnight at Phajoding.

Day 10 : Phajoding trek to Thimpu (2454mt.)
The trail continues to descend through pine forest. It is an easy and short day walk to Thimphu. Stay at Hotel.

Day 11 : Sightseeing in Thimpu.
Visit national library, handicraft emporium, and memorial chorten of His late Majesty, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and take a short drive to Dechenchholing to see gold and silver smith at work.Evening drive to Paro (55 km). Stay overnight at Hotel in Paro.

Day 12 : Fly to Kathmandu.

Day 13 : In Kathmandu, free day to rest and shopping.

Day 14 : Transfer to airport, depart Kathmandu
