After refreshments, you attend a welcome dinner and meet your guide, who will brief the itinerary and clarify any doubts about the trek, making it easier for the next day.

Leaving the capital city behind, you head to Dhap Bazar by private jeep. On your drive, you follow the Sunkoshi River, which joins the Tama Koshi River further ahead to form a large Koshi River until you reach Ghumi. Then you pass through the rhododendron forests and numerous quaint villages with higher altitudes to reach Dhap Bazaar for the night.

From Dhap, you leave the main road and follow a dusty local trail to Sigane village through the forest filled with rhododendrons, pines, and other flora.  From here, you ascend to Jhapre, which offers panoramic vistas of the Himalayan ranges, including Everest and Numbur Himal. You can also explore monasteries and stupas before settling in for the night at cozy guesthouses in Jhapre.

After Jhapre, the trail climbs up to the grassy ridge at Bulbule that offers you spectacular views of the Everest range, then the trail splits just beyond Bhulbhule, and on the right turn is Pikey Peak. On the way, you encounter mani walls and several yak homes, and then the path winds through dense forest trails while following the slope contours of the hillside below Taklung danda. It takes approximately 2 hours to reach Pikey Peak Base Camp for an overnight stay after leaving the jungle behind.
