Manasulu is the eighth highest mountain in the world and the highest mountain in this region (8156m). Manaslu has a unique environment, which is exceptionally rich in bio diversity that has made this region one of the finest tourist destinations of Nepal for many years. You find different kinds of animals, birds and plants. The animals like many highly endangered animals, including Snow Leopards and Pandas. Over 110 species of birds, 33 mammals, 11 butterflies and 3 reptiles have been recorded the monks of the monasteries in the area have achieved Conservation of wild life in the area by putting a hunting ban in place. This action has helped the wildlife to prosper. The area is now an important habitat for the snow leopard, grey wolf, musk deer, blue sheep and the Himalayan Thar. The name Manaslu means "The Spirit-Mountain" in the local dialect, referring to the benevolent and strong deity, which dwells within. Trekking in Manaslu is one of the most delightful adventures. This area has been quite popular among serious trekkers. Japanese climbers from 1952 until 1956 when the first accent was finally made attempted. The area is very remote and rescue is difficult in this wilderness area home to the snow leopard. This is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating trekking in Nepal. Many of the people residing in this area especially in the upper Buri Gandaki (river) Valley are Tibetan and one of the villages in this valley Nubri (meaning Western Mountain in Tibetan) is a famous trading center.

The permanent snow line is reckoned above (5,000m) (16,000 ft) elevation. Precipitation in the area is from both snowfall and rainfall; the average annual rainfall is about 1,900 millimeters (75 in) mostly during the monsoon period, which extends from June to September.
The Trek of Manaslu is one of the most enjoyable and really, a favalous Trek Manaslu is lie at the north of Kathmandu Valley. The Trek is about at the altitude at the 5135 meters. Like other recently opened areas with restricted permit the whole region north of Jajat, on Burigandaki River, were protected from influx of tourist due to its easy proximity to Tibet. Journey from Gorkha follows Burigandaki River at Arughat bazar (530m). The trail gradually ascend and enter deep inside the valley to Samagaon (3500m), cross snow covered pass at Larkya la (5135m) to reach Dharapani and Besishar on the west side making a semi circle around the peak. You get the view of Ganesh himal (7429m), Annapurna II (7937m) in the west and Langtang on the east is magnificent. Entire trail from low terraced land to high and Cold Mountain is very impressive. There are cultivated rice field, hot spring, suspension bridge, and as you reach higher elevation there are Tibetan village and captivating landscape. The trail joins popular Around Annapurna trek at Hardpan and ends at Besishar to catch transport to Kathmandu.
